CALL FOR PAPERS

The theme of our 2025 conference is “Forging the Future,” and will provide opportunities to experience the full spectrum of Radiation Protection & Health Physics topics with a host of speakers from our community. The sun is rising on nuclear, and we will have special emphasis placed on emerging technologies and evolving practices, along with dedicated sessions on nuclear power and other industry topics. 

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) invites all radiation protection professionals to submit abstracts for oral presentations and posters, as well as proposals for panels, interactive sessions and workshops that support the conference theme. Topic areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Radiation protection in nuclear power & other industry settings
  • Emergency preparedness and response, including lessons learned from emergency or unplanned situations
  • Incorporating radiation protection into new & innovative technologies
  • Balancing radiation protection and radiopharmaceutical production
  • Patient radiation safety in medical settings
  • Risk management and communication, education, and awareness
  • Effective training programs & strategies
  • New developments or research in radiobiology or epidemiological studies
  • New or changing regulatory expectations and objectives
 

Presentations and posters on any other aspects of radiation protection are also welcome, including work still in progress.

Abstracts may be submitted in either English or French, however, all oral presentations will be in English and simultaneous translation will not be available. Oral presentations will be limited to 20 minutes or less, including questions and answers, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Scientific Program Coordinators.

Anthony J. MacKay Student Paper Contest

The Anthony J. MacKay Student Paper Contest will also be held during the conference. Submissions to the Contest are to be made separately and have a deadline of February 14, 2025. The selection of finalists for the contest will be made prior to February 28, 2025, so that those not selected can still submit their work to the regular conference program. Submission Guidelines

  • Submission Deadline: February 28, 2025 at 23:59 (EST)
  • Abstracts must be submitted to [email protected] using the correct forms (download the Instructions and Forms below) 
  • An LCD data projector, microphone, computer (PC), and screen are included as part of the standard audio-visual package in each session room
  • If your submission is selected for inclusion in the program, you are required to register for the conference no later than May 2, 2025 and present your work in person
  • Registration fees, travel and accommodations are at your own expense unless otherwise arranged by the Local Organizing Committee
